The Draper EOBD Memory Saver is an essential diagnostic tool designed to maintain vehicle electrical settings during battery replacement or maintenance. This memory saver prevents the loss of critical data from the engine control unit (ECU), including radio presets, digital clock settings, and trip computer information when the main battery is disconnected. Connecting through the vehicle's 16-pin OBD port, this tool draws power from an external 12V slave battery to keep the vehicle's electrical systems energised throughout the battery change process. The generous 2.7-metre cable length provides flexible positioning of the slave battery whilst working, and the sturdy crocodile clips ensure a secure connection. Built-in safety features include reverse polarity protection to prevent incorrect connections and a 2A in-line fuse to guard against electrical overload. This makes the memory saver ideal for professional mechanics, mobile technicians, and automotive workshops performing routine battery replacements, diagnostic work, or any maintenance requiring battery disconnection. The tool is particularly valuable when working on modern vehicles with complex electronic systems where resetting lost settings can be time-consuming and problematic.
