The Stanley 151 flat spokeshave is a professional-grade hand tool designed for precision shaping and smoothing of convex surfaces. This traditional woodworking tool is fully adjustable for depth of cut using twin thumbscrews, allowing fine control for detailed work on curved components. Machined from fine grey iron, this spokeshave features a flat bottom base that's ideal for working curved chair legs, wheel spokes, and other convex timber surfaces. The precision-machined base ensures consistent contact with the workpiece, making it suitable for cabinetmakers, furniture makers, and woodworkers who require reliable performance when shaping curved profiles. With a 55mm cutter width and 250mm overall length, the Stanley 151 provides a good balance between control and coverage for general spokeshave work. The flat base design distinguishes this model for specific applications on convex surfaces, making it an essential tool for traditional joinery and fine woodworking projects where precision shaping of curves is required.
