The Irwin 10mm HSS Cobalt Drill Bit is a popular size for larger diameter drilling in stainless steel and other high alloys, ideal for substantial metalworking applications. This versatile diameter is commonly used for M10 clearance holes, heavy-duty fabrication work, and general drilling tasks where durability and performance are paramount. Manufactured from high quality HSS steel with 5% Cobalt content, this drill bit offers exceptional heat resistance and significantly extended life when drilling demanding materials. The added Cobalt improves the red hardness of the bit, enabling it to maintain its cutting edge under the high temperatures generated during drilling operations in stainless steel and high alloy materials. The 135° split point grinding ensures perfect centring from initial contact, reducing drilling pressure and eliminating the need for centre punching in many applications. An industrial quality ground flute design ensures high accuracy drilling whilst facilitating fast, efficient chip removal to prevent binding and maintain optimal performance. The attractive golden tempered surface finish indicates the superior heat treatment process that makes this bit ideal for professional applications requiring reliable, consistent performance.
