The Siegen 2 Piece Block and Smoothing Plane Set is a wood planer set designed for traditional hand planing tasks in joinery and woodworking applications. This set combines two essential planes to cover a range of smoothing and finishing operations on timber surfaces. The 235mm smoothing plane features a 45mm wide blade, making it ideal for flattening and smoothing larger timber surfaces, face planing boards, and achieving a superior finish on hardwoods and softwoods. The 163mm block plane offers greater manoeuvrability for detail work, edge chamfering, and working in confined spaces where a smaller tool is advantageous. Both planes are fitted with hardened, adjustable 65Mn steel blades that provide reliable cutting performance and allow for precise depth adjustment to suit different timber types and grain patterns. The plastic handle and knob design ensures comfortable handling during extended use, reducing hand fatigue on longer projects. Features and Benefits: • Hardened 65Mn steel blades for long-lasting cutting edge retention • Adjustable blade depth for precise control across different applications • Plastic handle and knob provide comfortable grip during extended planing tasks • Two complementary plane sizes cover both general smoothing and detail work Specifications: Blade Width(s): 45mm & 40mm Brand: Siegen Length: 235mm & 163mm Nett Weight: 0.8kg
