About the Book Alan Rickman kept diaries for decades, capturing everything from backstage nerves to Hollywood glamour with the same sharp wit and sonorous voice audiences knew from his performances. Readers travel behind the scenes of Sense & Sensibility, the Harry Potter films, Private Lives and My Name Is Rachel Corrie, gaining insight into Rickman's creative process, his friendships, his politics and his everyday frustrations and joys. The tone throughout is anecdotal, indiscreet, gossipy and utterly candid, described by critics as feeling like listening to Rickman chatting with a close friend.
