The Sealey Brake Shoe Retaining Spring Installation and Removal Tool (VS080) is a dedicated brake service tool designed to simplify the removal and installation of brake shoe retaining springs on cars, vans, and light commercial vehicles. Constructed from robust steel, this tool is built for durability and long service life — essential qualities for a workshop instrument that will see repeated use across a wide range of brake maintenance tasks. The head capacity of 16–22mm makes it compatible with a broad selection of rear drum brake assemblies commonly found across the UK vehicle parc. Beyond retaining springs, the tool also assists with the removal and replacement of pad springs, cups, and related components, helping mechanics and technicians work more efficiently during rear wheel brake servicing. A comfortable grip provides the controlled handling needed when working in confined brake assemblies, while the compact, lightweight design — weighing just 87g — makes it easy to carry between jobs or store in a toolbox without taking up valuable space.
