The Sealey VS058 Brake Pad Thickness Gauge is a professional diagnostic tool designed to measure brake pad lining thickness without removing the vehicle's road wheels. This ingenious time-saving device is essential for garages and workshops conducting brake inspections and MOT preparation checks. The gauge features a slim profile that enables it to locate the rear of the pad backing plate, allowing the probe to accurately measure the distance between the underside of the backing plate and brake disc. Suitable for both internal and external brake pads, it's designed specifically for brake pads with a standard 6mm thick backing plate, making it ideal for Class IV and V vehicles. With a measurement range of 1.5-13mm, the gauge includes a calibration line and a minimum 1.5mm pre-MOT check mark, enabling technicians to quickly assess whether brake pads meet legal safety requirements. This makes it particularly valuable for rapid pre-MOT assessments and routine brake condition inspections where efficiency is crucial.
