The Makita 231821-1 Tension Spring 3 is a genuine OEM spare part designed to restore correct mechanical tension in Makita BSS610 and BSS611 cordless circular saws. Constructed from durable spring steel with looped ends, this small but essential component ensures moving parts return consistently to their correct position during operation. A worn or fatigued tension spring can cause guards to stick or levers to operate sluggishly, both of which can affect cut quality and slow down work on site. Fitting a fresh spring is a straightforward maintenance task that restores smooth, repeatable performance and reduces unnecessary wear on guards, levers, and related linkages. The direct-fit design means minimal downtime, making it well suited to contractors and tradespeople who depend on their tools day to day. This part is also compatible with the Makita 5604R circular saw, broadening its application across the range. As a genuine Makita component, it carries Makita's part number 231821-1 for confident identification and assured fitment.
