The Makita MT Series M9204 is a 125mm random orbital disc sander designed for smooth, swirl-free sanding on wood and other surfaces, suitable for apprentices, tradespeople, and discerning home users. Part of Makita's MT Series, the M9204 bridges the gap between DIY-grade tools and high-end professional machines. It delivers industrial build quality at an accessible price point, making it a practical choice for those who need a robust, reliable sander without paying for features they won't use. The palm-grip design and rubberised soft-grip handle make the M9204 comfortable to use for extended periods, while the lightweight 1.2 kg body reduces fatigue during repetitive work. At 12,000 orbits per minute with a 2.8 mm orbit diameter, it produces consistently fine results on small to medium-sized workpieces. The 125mm hook and loop pad accepts widely available sanding discs, keeping running costs low. Dust management is well considered for a tool at this level. The built-in dust collection system, included dust bag, and extractor connectivity make it a practical option for workshop and on-site use where cleanliness and COSHH compliance matter.
